“8 semesters – 4 years – 1 journey.
All learned skills condensed and proven in one final project.
Vietnamese cultural heritage has prospered through more than 4,000 years of history, spanning visual arts, music, folk legends, and beyond. Nevertheless, traditional culture is gradually fading from the awareness of the younger generation, and it has become increasingly difficult to find successors who can inherit the beautiful art of craftsmanship.
While these art forms are exquisite, they are not as widely recognized across Asia as those of Korea or Japan, let alone on a global scale. Many people even mistake Vietnamese culture for Chinese culture, which is deeply insulting.
In recent years, cultural movements and efforts by both the people and the Government of Vietnam have sought to revive the spirit of traditional arts by blending them with fresh, modern perspectives, making them more appealing to the youth as well as to international audiences.
This capstone project aims to convey an artistic and meaningful personal statement and pay tribute to Vietnam’s vast cultural legacy by honoring its origins and standing as an oath of devotion to the enduring traditions of the nation.
‘Số phận dân ta là ở trong tay dân ta. Văn hóa phải soi đường cho quốc dân đi’
‘The destiny of our people lies in our own hands. Culture must illuminate the path for the nation.’ – Ho Chi Minh”
